It looks as it the EU will be Rolled into the RUM system, and function as it did in our test run last spring, as a Mini-RUM during A&S regional with classes for peopel to spend thier day in while waiting for judging and scoreing to be done.

It will contiinue to be run by the Evergreens, but like last time all teachers will be welcomed.

Dispelling Rumours about the first EU

We wanted to clear up some misconceptions as to who could teach at the EU that have been circulating.

Many seemd to believe this was a "Evergreen only" Or "Evergreen or higher" teaching venue. NOT TRUE.

  • ANYONE could teach. Some teachers were asked directly, but every person who asked the organizer to teach did so.
  • In fact, An open call was put out on the kingdom list for teachers in the months leading up to the event, and some of those who taught came from that posting.
  • While, It was primarily a feature of Oaken teachers, (being it was at a premiere event Oaken,) many others were not from the Oaken area. One came all the way from Northshield, another "geographically-displaced" local came from Aethelmarc.
  • We had some teachers who were relative newbies with out a single award (aoa or otherwise) and we had Laurels and everyone in between. Rank was NOT an issue in recruting/selecting teachers.
  • In all about 6-7 Evergeeens taught that day, but over half were NOT Evergreens when they signed up to teach. Two were inducted into the order that evening, the rest in the months preceeding the event.

We just wanted to clear that up before it propagated further.
